Practice is pleased to announce MultiRail
2008, a rail planning workshop and conference, to be held on October
22nd and 23rd at the historic Nassau Inn, situated in
the heart of You do not have to be a MultiRail user to attend or to gain some value from this
workshop. As always, there will be
presentations and discussions on MultiRail, but
there will also be an opportunity for attendees to share ideas and
experiences in the areas of service design, asset utilization, network
planning, locomotive optimization, traffic analysis tools, and more. We expect attendees from major freight
railways in North America, On the agenda will be
presentations and demonstrations on the latest rail software products being
developed in
We will also have
presentations from railroads and open discussions on the state of rail
planning in The event will kick off
with a welcome reception on the evening of October 21st at the
Nassau Inn. We will hold a full day of
workshop sessions on Wednesday the 22nd and we hope that you will
join us for dinner at the conclusion of the conference day. Workshop meetings will continue on Thursday
morning the 23rd, with the workshop wrap-up session at 3:00 PM. The preliminary agenda and conference pricing will be available in

The MultiModal Systems Practice of Mercer
Management Consulting concluded a very successful MultiRail
User Workshop and Rail Planning Conference on May 25-26, 2006, at the All of the attending Class I railroads, including Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific, Canadian Pacific, BNSF, and CSX, made presentations offering insight into the very detailed planning processes and tools used by these large freight railroads.
